Starke County Commissioners Still Hope to Schedule Joint Meeting with Planning Commission

The Starke County Commissioners were asked about the solar ordinance revisions during their meeting Monday.

In a previous meeting, Citizens Against Progressive Solar (C.A.P.S) representatives Roberta Lee and Alisha Rios proposed to the commissioners many revisions to the current solar ordinance in Starke County. It was mentioned a moratorium or even a cap on the amount of acreage allowed in Starke County is something C.A.P.S would be in favor of and hope the commissioners would consider. During that same meeting, the commissioners announced they would like to set up a joint session with the planning commission to go over the proposed revisions with C.A.P.S.

During public comment, the commissioners were asked if a date had been set with the planning commission. The commissioners stated they had not heard from the planning commission on an exact date they would meet.

At this time, both the commissioners and the planning commission are expected to hear the proposed changes from C.A.P.S once the date has been set.
