Pulaski County Fire Claims a Life

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department released a press release involving a structural fire in Medaryville early this morning.

Pulaski County Sheriff Chris Schramm stated at approximately 2:20 a.m. ET, the Medaryville Fire Department was called out to a structure fire at the residence of 201 South Jefferson Street in Medaryville.

As emergency crews arrived on the scene they were notified that a juvenile was still inside the residence. It was noted in the press release, emergency crews did everything possible to extinguish the engulfed structure and were unable to get aid to the juvenile inside the home. It was noted the adult and the other children were out of the home upon arrival and were checked out at the scene by Pulaski County EMS.

The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s office has been notified and the investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire. The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, Medaryville Fire Department, Francesville Fire Department, Pulaski County Emergency Medical Services, Pulaski County Coroner’s Office and Indiana State Fire Marshal’s office are all working together on the scene.

Pulaski County Sheriff Chris Schramm told WKVI News more information will be released as the investigation continues.
