Salvation Army Bell Ringers Still Needed

The Salvation Army is still looking for volunteers as they started collecting funds to assist Starke County community members with needs last week.

Salvation Army bell ringers are needed at Bailey’s Discount Center in North Judson Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT, and at Five Star in Knox Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT. The Salvation Army began ringing their bells last week and are always looking for more people to volunteer up until Christmas Eve.

Coordinator Joe Lopez from the Salvation Army said volunteers can call him at 574-207-3718 and tell him how long of a shift they can work during collection times and then collect donations for that amount of time. He said any amount of time that can be offered would be welcome, whether it be two hours, four hours or the entire day.

Lopez stressed that whatever money is collected stays in the county. All funds will go to Community Services of Starke County to assist residents with a variety of needs.
