Starke County Council Updated on Municipal Election Costs

The Starke County Council heard an update from Starke Circuit Court Clerk Bernadette Manuel during their meeting last week.

It was announced that this years election cost a total of $16,948.30. Starke County Auditor Rachel Oesterreich told WKVI News the total price of the election includes the cost of election workers, election supplies, election poll workers, absentee workers and the travel board.

The council was informed the City of Knox will be billed the $16,948.30. It was noted this is because the election was a City of Knox municipal election and no other elections throughout the county were held.
