The Knox City Council approved the Holiday Schedule for 2024 during their meeting Tuesday.
City employees will have January 1st off for New Year’s Day and January 15th for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. In February, employees will have the 19th off for President’s Day. In March, Good Friday will be observed on March 29th.
During the month of May, employees will have the 27th off for Memorial Day. Thursday, July 4th
will also be observed. Employees will also have no work on Monday, September 2nd in recognition of Labor Day and Monday, October 14th for Columbus Day.
There will be a few different holidays observed during the month of November including Veterans Day on the 11th as well as Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving on Thursday the 28th and Friday the 29th.
In December, employees get off Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, which will fall on a Tuesday and Wednesday in 2024. The council approved the 2024 Holiday Schedule unanimously.
On a related note, the council also approved their meeting schedule for 2024. The council approved to continue meeting on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. CT.
