The Knox City Council discussed adding stop signs at two locations during their meeting Tuesday.
The council previously added stop signs at the intersection of Main and Potter Streets as well as Main and Deleware Streets. City of Knox Mayor Dennis Estok stated Street Superintendent Jeff Borg recommended the council consider adding stop signs to the intersection of Adams and Portland Streets as well as the intersection of Mound and Pearl Streets. He mentioned residents with children in that area reached out with concerns over speeding drivers.
Mayor Estok said they have been looking at potential locations throughout the city that would benefit from adding stop signs as well as speed limit signs. He entertained a motion to approve the addition of new stop signs at the intersection of Adams and Portland Street as well as the intersection of Mound and Pearl Streets. A motion was made and seconded. The council voted unanimously approving the addition of new stop signs.
