Knox City Council Updated on Potential Hotel Project

The Knox City Council heard an update on the property to be annexed for the potential of an upper, mid-scale hotel during their meeting Tuesday.

In a previous story, City of Knox Mayor Dennis Estok informed the council they have their eye on property just south of 1st Source Bank but will need to annex that property as it is not within city limits. He stated the parcel of land is approximately 10 acres and would be a great location for the potential hotel.

During their meeting Tuesday, Mayor Estok stated they have not moved forward with annexing the property but are currently working with landowners to secure that parcel of land for the potential project.

Additionally, the Starke County Economic Development Foundation (SCEDF) is working with several investors and brands to bring a hotel to the City of Knox to meet the needs of businesses and travelers. As previously reported, there are no franchise hotels on U.S. 35 between Logansport and La Porte.

If anyone would like to invest in this project, they are instructed to contact SCEDF at 574-772-5627.
