The Starke County Commissioners discussed updating the Sheriff’s Department time clock during their meeting last week.
In a previous meeting, Starke County Sheriff Jack Rosa approached the commissioners with quotes received from companies to update the department’s current time clock system. It was announced the current time clock system is outdated and doesn’t function correctly anymore. The best quote received came from Right Stuff Software in the amount of $17,000.
During their meeting last week, a motion was made to approve the purchase of a new time clock system for the Sheriff’s Department in the amount of $17,000 from Right Stuff Software. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote.
Starke County Auditor Rachel Oesterreich told WKVI News the $17,000 will come from the county’s Cumulative Capital Development Fund. She added the new time clock system won’t be completed and ready for installation until May of 2024. She stated Right Stuff Software is building an entirely new time clock system that is catered to the Sheriff’s Department’s yearly schedule and needs this time in order to prepare for the installation.
