Starke County Commissioners Updated on 2nd Floor Courthouse Project

The Starke County Commissioners were updated on the remodeling of certain areas on the second floor of the courthouse during their meeting Monday.

In a previous meeting, the commissioners made a motion to approve Keener Construction’s bid of $169,250 for the areas involved in the project. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote. The commissioners also discussed purchasing new office furniture during that same meeting. A bid of $12,039.37 from Kemp’s Office City was approved by the commissioners. The bid entailed new desks, conference tables, chairs, filling cabinets and other office furniture needed to bring the 2nd floor of the courthouse up to date.

During the commissioner’s meeting Monday, Starke County Clerk Bernadette Manuel announced the areas involved with the project on the second floor have had walls, trim and conference room all painted. She added the project is moving along very well and invited the commissioners to stop by and visit the remodeling as it continues. She went on to thank the commissioners for making this project come to fruition.
