The Starke County Council was updated on the newest addition to the Knox Industrial Park during their meeting Monday.
Starke County Economic Development Foundation (SCEDF) Executive Director Lisa Dan informed the council, Walkal Machining, LLC. is close to completing construction of their new building within the industrial park. She added an official ribbon cutting is expected to take place in the coming weeks.
The machine shop, located at 205 Kloeckner Drive in Knox, will have equipment and supplies for machining and will be able to cut, fabricate and finish products to prepare them for use. They will create new parts and repair existing equipment and parts for many local and regional clients, including the manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, farming and construction industries.
