The Pulaski County Commissioners held discussions on approving a new county Health Officer during their meeting Tuesday.

Representatives from the Pulaski County Health Department formally asked the commissioners to approve Dr. Tim Day as the new county Health Officer. It was noted the health board will be meeting next week where the approval of Dr. Day will be on the agenda. It was also mentioned while the board hasn’t formally approved Dr. Day, each board member has already stated they will vote in favor of Dr. Day for the position.

Commissioner Chuck Mellon then made a motion to approve Dr. Tim Day as the new Pulaski County Health Officer. Commissioner Maurice Loehmer seconded that motion. The commissioners voted unanimously approving Dr. Tim Day as the new Pulaski County Health Officer. It was noted Dr. Day will begin on February 1.
