The Starke County Commissioners reorganized their board during Tuesday’s meeting.
Mark Gourley made a motion to appoint Don Binkley as the new commission president. That motion was seconded by Charles Chesak and passed unanimously by vote. Gourley then nominated Charles Chesak to be the board’s new vice president. That motion was seconded by Binkley and passed unanimously by vote.
The commissioners then made a motion to retain County Attorney Justin Schramm for the 2024 year. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote as well. The commissioners will continue to meet every first and third Monday of each month this year in the ground floor meeting room of the Starke County Annex No. 1 building at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox. They will meet at 5 p.m. CT on the first Monday and 9:30 a.m. CT on the third Monday.
