Knox City Council Looking to Update City Hall

The Knox City Council discussed renovating City Hall during their meeting Tuesday.

City of Knox Mayor Dennis Estok informed the council, starting next year all public meetings must live stream online. He went on to say with this mandatory update, City Hall has not been renovated in some time. It was noted the carpet and flooring needs attention as well as the building’s HVAC system. Mayor Estok mentioned the HVAC system has issues with heating the building evenly. It was mentioned the tables and chairs used in the meeting room are also outdated.

Mayor Estok stated the city has $100,000 of funds available for a project like this but doubts the kind of renovations discussed would be anywhere near that amount. He formally asked the council to approve seeking quotes for the renovations at City Hall. A motion was made and seconded. The council voted unanimously approving to have quotes received for the renovations. Mayor Estok said the hope would be to have all renovations done by the end of this year.
