The Starke County Commissioners discussed the need to update roads in the Bass Lake area during their meeting last week.
At the end of the meeting, the floor was opened to the public for comment with several Bass Lake residents speaking up on the quality of roads around the Bass Lake area. It was noted that potholes have gotten much bigger over the winter season and that it is becoming a hazard to drive through the area for Bass Lake residents and visitors. It was asked of the commissioners when the county may look at refurbishing roads in the Bass Lake area.
Starke County Auditor Rachel Oesterreich explained the budget for this year has already been set but that the county has them on a list of roads to work on for the 2025 year. She noted that they won’t be able to get to Bass Lake until next year.
