The Pulaski County Commissioners discussed early voting and collecting tax payments during their meeting Monday.
Commission President Chuck Mellon announced the space within the courthouse previously used by the Clerk’s office for early voting is currently unavailable due to the ongoing courthouse project. He stated the county has looked at relocating early voting to the Pulaski County Highway Garage where space is available. It was also noted, the space used for collecting tax payments by the Treasurer’s office which is on the upper floor of the temporary annex location is not easily accessible for the older population and for those with mobility issues. Mellon stated the highway garage would be able to house both early voting for the Clerk’s office and collecting tax payments for the Treasurer’s office but IT updates would be needed.
Mellon announced a contract in the amount of $8,350 from Roeing IT Solutions would get the updates the highway garage needs. It was stated the updates would give the highway garage the capabilities for early voting and collecting taxes. A motion was made to approve the contract with Roeing IT Solutions. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote.
