Spring leaf pickup has been scheduled for the City of Knox.
City of Knox Mayor Dennis Estok announced during the city council meeting this week, Monday, April 1 the street department will start their pick up routes. Leaf pick up is scheduled to take place the first week of April and the first week of May.
Mayor Estok noted leaves should be placed in a long row next to the curb along the street, not in the alley. Residents are asked not to bag the leaves and to keep any trash out of the leaf piles so the vacuum can pick the leaves up. The Knox Street Department will pick up branches and limbs each Thursday, but the city won’t take brush from professional tree removal jobs.
Those using the city compost pile at the corner of Shield and Mound Streets are asked to remove the leaves and grass from bags or containers.
