The Starke County Commissioners heard from the Sheriff’s Department during their joint session with the council Monday.
Starke County Sheriff’s Department Matron April Wilhelm formally asked the commissioners to approve the conversion of a part-time Jailer position to a part-time Evidence Technician. It was noted the department did not need any additional funding to convert the position. Wilhelm stated the hourly pay would stay the same at $15.19 an hour.
Commissioner Mark Gourley made the motion to approve the conversion of a part-time Jailer position to a part-time Evidence Technician. That motion was seconded by Commissioner Charles Chesak and was approved unanimously by vote.
