The Knox Board of Public Works discussed street paving through a Community Crossings Matching Grant (CCMG) during their meeting last week.
Each year, the City of Knox applies for a CCMG. When awarded, this grant enables cities to choose streets within their community that need updated. The list of streets under consideration were not announced but the City of Knox was awarded the grant in October of 2023. In a previous meeting, the board approved a bid from Rieth Riley in the amount of $341,905.
Knox Street Superintendent Jeff Borg announced his department has been out sweeping streets in preparation for the paving that will be going on. He stated the paving of streets should begin between the middle and end of May.
