Knox City Council Approves Annexation of Property for Potential Hotel

The Knox City Council heard an update on the property to be annexed for the potential of an upper, mid-scale hotel during their meeting Tuesday.

In a previous story, City of Knox Mayor Dennis Estok informed the council they have their eye on property just south of 1st Source Bank but will need to annex that property as it is not within city limits. He stated the parcel of land is approximately 10 acres and would be a great location for the potential hotel.

During their meeting Tuesday, Mayor Estok stated all he needs is a motion to accept petitions of voluntary annexation of the property. He stated if the council were to approve the petitions, the property would be annexed and become part of the City of Knox in efforts to bring the potential hotel. Knox City Council President Jeff Berg made a motion to accept the petitions for voluntary annexation into Knox, Indiana as presented. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote.
