Pulaski County Commissioners Discuss Early Voting and Tax Collecting Relocation

The Pulaski County Commissioners were updated on their contract with Roeing IT Solutions during their meeting Monday.

As previously reported, the county’s early voting location within the courthouse is currently unavailable due to the ongoing courthouse project. It was decided the county would be relocating early voting to the Pulaski County Highway Garage where space is available. It was also noted, the space used for collecting tax payments by the Treasurer’s office located on the upper floor of the temporary annex location was not easily accessible for the older population and for those with mobility issues. It was stated the highway garage would be able to house both early voting for the Clerk’s office and collecting tax payments for the Treasurer’s office but IT updates would be needed.

In a previous meeting, Commission President Chuck Mellon announced the contract with Roeing was in the amount of $8,350 and would provide the needed updates to the highway garage for the capability of early voting and collecting taxes. The commissioners approved the contract with Roeing unanimously.

Duing their meeting on Monday, Mellon said part of the approved contract involves monthly meetings with the Roeing Corporation. He said the contract states it is up to the county to hold Roeing accountable. He went on to say Pulaski County Auditor Laura Wheeler emailed all county departments to find out what IT issues, if any, they may be experiencing. He added this is all in preparation for the upcoming election and also the collection of taxes. It was noted Roeing has been very beneficial through the process.
