Spring leaf pickup is scheduled in the city of Knox next week.
Monday, May 6 the street department will start their pick up routes and run throughout the week.
Mayor Dennis Estok noted leaves should be placed in a long row next to the curb along the street, not in the alley. Residents are asked not to bag the leaves and to keep any trash out of the leaf piles so the vacuum can pick up the leaves.
The Knox Street Department will pick up branches and limbs each Thursday, but the city won’t take brush from professional tree removal jobs. Those using the city compost pile at the corner of Shield and Mound Streets are asked to remove the leaves and grass from bags or containers.
