Pulaski County Commissioners Hear Courthouse Project Update

The Pulaski County Commissioners heard an update on the courthouse project during their meeting Monday.

Pulaski County Community Development Commission (CDC) Executive Director Nathan Origer informed the commissioners that site perimeter fencing has been completely installed. Origer mentioned this encompasses the entire courthouse square, including sidewalks on the north, west, and south sides of the building.

In a previous meeting, Origer announced the installation of fencing will also close much of Meridian Street. He said that part of Meridian Street parallel providing access to Howard’s Marathon is a public street in the Town of Winamac’s street inventory and will remain open. Through access on Meridian Street will not be possible. He went on to say the westernmost part of Meridian Street providing access to parking spots in front of the Justice Center and on the western part of the south side of the courthouse square will be open for Justice Center visitors, but through access will not be possible.

Origer stated he will have a more in depth report on the project during the commissioner and council joint session next week. As of now, the project is moving along.
