The Knox Board of Public Works heard an update on 301 East Danker Street during their meeting Wednesday.
In a previous story, a structure fire at the location occurred where firefighters were on the scene. At the time, Knox-Center Township Fire Chief Kenny Pfost told WKVI News, the fire was brought under control within 15 minutes and that no one was in the building at the time of the fire. He added there were no injuries and no one was displaced. Pfost stated the fire was believed to be accidental and the origin appeared to be above the building’s porch soffit.
During Wednesday’s Board of Public Works meeting, Director of Building, Planning and Code Compliance Lonnie Boley announced, he had been in contact with the owner of the building as not much had been done since the fire to bring the property up to code. He stated, the owner has since hired an architect and has been in contact with him several times already this week. Boley stated, the architect informed him that it would take four to six weeks to have drawings complete and receive a state design release.
Boley went on to say, as of now, everything is in compliance and there was no need for a public hearing. He stated he would provide an update on the property at the next Board of Public Works meeting.
