The North Judson Town Council held budget discussions during a special session Wednesday.
North Judson Clerk-Treasurer Andrew Rowe announced, he had spoke with county officials and that they had discovered any elected official for the purposes of health insurance, are considered full-time. He went on to announce, that means each council member, if they so choose, are eligible for health insurance coverage through the town.
Rowe stated the council would need to decide if this is something they would like to add to the budget for 2025. As of now, it is not. A motion was made to approve the addition of health insurance for North Judson Town Council members to the 2025 budget. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote.
It was announced, the health insurance would be offered through Anthem and include medical, vision and dental. Rowe stated he would look into if they would be able to add life insurance to options offered as well.
