The Starke County Commissioners are still looking to appoint someone to the Kankakee-Iroquois Regional Planning Commission (K-IRPC) Board of Commissioners.
Starke County Auditor Michaelene Houston told WKVI News, Brandie Ecker was appointed on July 15 by commissioners and one more seat is still open and available for interested individuals. The active participation by board members is vital to the ongoing success of K-IRPC and allows them to better understand and address the needs of the community. According to the requirements of Indiana State Code 36-7-7, the commissioners are allowed three representatives on the K-IRPC Board.
Houston stated if anyone is interested in being considered, they are asked to contact the Auditor’s Office at 574-772-9101.
