Starke County Council Holds Public Hearing on 2025 Budget

The Starke County Council held a public hearing on the 2025 proposed budget during their meeting Monday.

Starke County’s total budget of all funds is listed on Indiana Gateway’s website of budget notices for local government. The total amount listed for Starke County is $15,045,255 with the County General Fund at $8,871,220. Starke County Council Vice President Todd Leinbach made a motion to approve the budgets that were submitted to the council. He went on to say there was not a budget submitted by the Starke County Airport Authority for the council to approve during their meeting. Council member Kay Gudeman seconded Leinbach’s motion. The council voted unanimously to approve the submitted budgets.

The Starke County Solid Waste District budget was then presented at $299,267. Vice President Leinbach made a motion to approve the budget and council member Tony Black seconded that motion. The council voted unanimously approving the submitted budget for the Solid Waste District.

The North Judson-San Pierre School Board total budget was discussed next. Leinbach stated the total amount came in at $14,589,503. He made the motion to approve the submitted budget. That motion was seconded by council member Bruce Bennett and approved unanimously by the council’s vote.
