Knox Board of Public Works Adopts New SOP for Police Department

The Knox Board of Public Works discussed adopting a new mandate for the Police Department’s standard operating procedure during their meeting last week.

Knox City Chief of Police Chad Dulin announced the new mandate comes from the state and is labeled Defensive Tactics. He stated this is a new training that is required and will be conducted with the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. He formally asked the council to approve the adoption of Defensive Tactics.

A motion was made to approve the adoption of Defensive Tactics to the Police Department’s standard operating procedure. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote.
