The Knox City Council discussed funding for Knoxtoberfest during their meeting last week.
City of Knox Mayor Dennis Estok stated Knoxtoberfest is becoming a bigger event each year downtown. It was noted that last year was an even bigger success than the year prior and that funding for the event has been relatively affordable. Estok said last year, the city gave $5,000 and that there is still $3,000 of funding left to go toward this year’s event.
He entertained the council make a motion to approve $2,500 for added funding to go toward Knoxtoberfest. Council member Bill Gustafson made a motion to approve the $2,500 of funding for the event. That motion was seconded by council member Donald Kring and passed unanimously by vote.
