The Pulaski County Council discussed adding an Assistant 911 Director for the Sheriff’s Department during their meeting Monday.
During a previous commissioner meeting, Pulaski County Sheriff Chris Schramm announced the department wouldn’t be adding a new position but simply utilizing a current employee from within to assist the 911 director while also doing their regular duties. He stated the raise in pay for the individual chosen would be anywhere between three and seven percent if the commissioners where to approve. The commissioners moved to approve the added position unanimously by vote. It was noted the council would need to approve the added position and pay raise percentage as well.
During Monday’s council meeting, Sheriff Schramm explained the need for the added position to the council. It was noted once again how this would not be a new hire but simply promoting someone already within the department to become the assistant 911 director. Pulaski County Council Vice-President Mike Tiede made a motion to approve the 911 assistant director position along with a five percent increase in pay. That motion was seconded and passed unanimously by vote.
Sheriff Schramm stated they will begin conducting interviews and hope to have the position filled by next month.
