The Starke County Commissioners discussed an unpaid invoice for the IT department during a previous meeting.
Starke County IT Director Stanley Budd stated his department received an invoice from the county’s cloud data backup company requesting last year’s overdue payment of $18,279.79. He stated this was not something he was aware of and that the overdue payment was due in October of 2023. He went on to say the payment was not included in the department’s budget for 2023. He said this year’s budget does include this year’s payment and formally asked the commissioners to approve an additional appropriation to pay the overdue balance from last year to get caught up.
It was noted a three year contract with the company Insight was signed by Richard Franks in 2022. Commissioner Mark Gourley made a motion to pay the overdue balance of $18,279.79 from CEDIT to Insight. That motion was seconded by Charles Chesak and was approved unanimously by vote.
