The Starke County Commissioners discussed 2025 insurance renewals during their meeting last week.
President of 1st Choice Insurance Carrie Block and Connor Cox of Bliss McKnight brought forth a proposed renewal of insurance for 2025. Block presented the commissioners each with a binder that goes through each service provided throughout the year. She stated the binder explains what is provided along with the insurance coverage in total.
Block said they received an Experience Modification of 1.51. She went on to say this factor rating received is quite high and hopes going forward it will come down. She went on to say there are new deductible options available as well. The commissioners discussed a $1,000 deductible for vehicle insurance and a $50,000 deductible for all peril wind and hail damage insurance.
Commissioner Mark Gourley made a motion to approve the proposed insurance renewals for 2025 as well as the two deductible options discussed. That motion was seconded by commissioner Don Binkley and passed unanimously by vote.
