Starke County Commissioners Hear EMS Department Update

The Starke County Commissioners heard an update from the EMS Department during their meeting Monday.

Starke County EMS Director James Garner announced the department is currently 91 percent staffed. He stated the department had 43 transfers in the Month of August and added they have already done more this month. Garner said they are currently looking to fill two EMT positions and said they have already received several applications and hopes to make hires soon. He said they are looking to hire two full time paramedics as well.

Garner went on to say the department has completed ALS assist training and added they are also currently going through CPR re-certification at the Knox base. It was noted new protocols are being put in place concerning the CPR re-certification.
