According to the Winamac Volunteer Fire Department, they responded to a structure fire earlier this week.

On October 29th around 10:18pm Eastern Time, the Fire Department was notified of a garage fire that had spread to the immediate area.

Upon the arrival of the fire department, they were notified that there had been several explosions, and that the garage was unoccupied. The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department located the owners of the property inside the residence.

The Fire Department used their main engine, hooked to the tanker, and reported that they pulled two lines and gained control of the fire within about 10 minutes of being on scene. The remainder of their time on scene was spent pulling out the metal roof, and putting out hot spots, with the scene being cleared just after midnight.

Five members of the Winamac Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call, along with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, Winamac Police Department, and Pulaski County EMS.
