Knox-Center Township Fire Department responds to reported apartment fire

KNOX – According to the Knox-Center Township Fire Department, on Sunday, November 9th at approximately 6:30pm Central Time, they were dispatched to Danker Street in Knox for a reported apartment fire.



Engine 3 and Ladder 1 responded. Engine 3 arrived on scene, secured a water supply, and stretched a 300-foot attack line to the apartment. Engine 3’s crew quickly determined there was no fire; however there was burnt food on the stove.

The incident was scaled back and Ladder 1’s crew ventilated the structure with a positive pressure fan.

Knox-Center Township Fire Department goes on to state that although there were no fire conditions visible on arrival, Fire Department members treated this incident the same as if it were a working fire. Members remained on scene for approximately 30 minutes before returning to service.

Starke County EMS and Knox Police also responded to the scene.
