The Starke County Plan Commission has announced that they will be holding a public meeting on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026.
The meeting will be at 5:30pm Central Time at the Annex #1 building, located at 53 East Mound Street in Knox.
The agenda for this meeting includes consideration on two resolutions; both related to temporary moratoriums in place regarding Battery Energy Storage Systems, and Commercial Solar Energy Systems.
Plan Commission will discuss and consider a recommendation to the Starke County Board of Commissioners that both moratoriums be extended through July 25th, 2026.
The notice for the meeting states that all interested members of the community will have the opportunity to speak in regards to extending these moratoriums. Written statements may also be submitted to the Starke County Plan Commission prior to the hearing, and will be considered by the Commission.
