
Knox Mayor Dennis Estok announced yesterday that the City of Knox has been preliminarily awarded $514,640 from the Community Crossings Matching Grant 2026-1.
The announcement states that funds will be used for improvements to the City’s infrastructure; for resurfacing and building new streets.
Several Knox streets will be done with 2″ mill and fill in 2026 as a result of this grant money.
Street work will include:
- Bender Street from Pacific Avenue to Portland Street
- Sycamore Street from Bender Street to John Street
- Portland Street from John Street to Washington Street
- John Street from Roosevelt Road to Prettyman Street
- Shield Street from the south end to St. Louis Street
- Pearl Street from Culver Road to St. Louis Street
- Short Drive from 500 E to 1925 West
- Adams Street from Bower Street to South Roosevelt
The Community Crossings Matching Grant program was launched in 2016 and provides funding to towns and counties across Indiana to make improvements to local roads and bridges.
