
Kankakee Valley REMC reports that their Junior Board of Directors met earlier this month for a full and fun session.
According to a post made by REMC, their Junior Board of Directors’ meeting began with a presentation on AI, which the post states gives students a glimpse into the future of technology.
After the presentation, the group visited Pines Village Retirement Communities, located in Valparaiso, for a community service project that involved sanitizing wheelchairs, walkers, and common areas throughout the facility. The Junior Board also met and visited with residents, and donated puzzles and games to the facility.
Junior Board members finished out their day by visiting the LaPorte County Museum. The announcement states that during their visit to the museum, they learned fun local history facts and viewed the Kesling Automobile Collection.
The Kankakee Valley REMC Junior Board of Directors is a leadership program for high school students that is designed to connect them with community professionals and teach them about business and governance.
