Knox Parks and Recreation board to meet December 22

Knox Parks and Recreation board will hold their regular monthly meeting this evening, Monday December 22nd.

The meeting will be at 5:30pm Central Time and will be held at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center in Knox.

The board will vote on the approval of the minutes from their November 24th meeting before reviewing a presentation of financials.

Under the New Business section of the agenda, board members will review the park’s 5-year park plan, as well as mapping out where to put garbage cans.

Discussion will be held on things that needs to be fixed or improved, such as a spring on one of the teeter totters and the possibility of more electrical work and more lights for pickleball and basketball courts in Wythogan Park.

The Parks and Recreation board will also discuss the upcoming baseball and softball season, as well as their employee schedule of daily, weekly, and monthly duties.

Board members will also begin thinking of officers for their 2026 elections, and discuss their 2026 schedule as well as the possibility of an upcoming executive session to discuss hiring a park employee in January.

After a superintendent’s report and some time set aside for comments from the public and board members, the meeting will be adjourned.
