Knox School Board and School Finance Board to meet January 5

The Knox Community Schools will be holding a regular school board meeting, followed by a Finance Board meeting at the Administrative office this upcoming Monday, January 5th, 2026.

The school board meeting will begin at 6pm.

After calling the meeting to order, the board will adopt the agenda and approve minutes from their December 1st meeting.

During the Champion Moment, both Myles McLaughlin and Mrs. Meda Sullivan will be recognized.

The Board will receive an update from the Transportation Director as well as from each school building’s principals on the first semester of school.

The Board will hear comments from the public on any agenda item, before discussing the election of officers for 2026.

The Board will entertain nominations and conduct votes for President, Vice President, and Secretary.

The personnel report is the next agenda item listed, beginning with 4 resignations including the Middle School Assistant Principal at the end of the 2025-26 school year. The personnel report also includes the recommendation of two new hires, one transfer, and several extracurricular appointments for middle school basketball coaches and volunteers, and a volunteer wrestling coach.

Under the business section of the agenda, the board will consider appointments and memberships for several open positions.

After appointments, the Board will receive the Treasurer’s report and Vendor Usage report, both provided by the Treasurer.

Board members will review any claims; and will discuss the handling of their legal advertisements in the future, as well as 4 Conflict of Interest statements from board members.

The Superintendent will update the Board on the upcoming construction project to take place at Knox High School, as well as recommending the approval of two donations and an affidavit for payments.

The board will receive comments from the public on items not on the agenda, before taking comments or questions from administrators and the board and adjourning the meeting.

Directly following the regular Board meeting, the Knox Community School Corporation Board of Finance will hold a regular meeting.

Under the Business section of the agenda, the Superintendent will recommend that the Board of Finance officers are the same as the officers of the current Board of School Trustees.

The Board will then review the overall investment policy of Knox Community School Corporation, receive and review the investment report from the investment officer, and hear a review of the fiscal indicators before adjourning the meeting.

The public is invited to attend both of these meetings.
