WESTVILLE – According to an announcement made yesterday, December 4th, by the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office, they are looking for information relating to a theft that took place at the Dollar General in Westville.
The announcement states that during the evening of November 30th, two males exited a blue Ford F-150 and entered the Dollar General in Westville.
One of the men engaged the clerk in conversation for an extended period of time while the other wandered around placing merchandise into a garbage can.
Both subjects eventually ran out of the store with the garbage can full of stolen products. While beginning to flee, the thieves discarded the garbage can from the truck and ran it over. Some of the stolen merchandise was recovered, but some was not.
The license plate on the truck was false. Citizens are urged to e-mail Deputy Adam Needles with any information about the suspects; at aneedles@lcso.in.gov.
