
According to the Starke County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday, December 30th around 1:49pm Central Time, Starke County Deputies responded to a report of a single vehicle crash by State Road 39 and 200 South, near Toto.

A witness reported that the vehicle, a 2010 white Chevrolet Equinox, was traveling northbound at approximately 75 miles per hour. The vehicle was reportedly swerving, ran off the roadway, and struck a tree.
Deputies arrived and observed the vehicle had traveled approximately 337 feet prior to striking the tree. Both occupants of the vehicle had to be extricated from the vehicle. The driver, Richard Sutton (59), of Illinois, and the passenger Shelly Shores (53), of Oklahoma, were both transported for injuries.
This incident remains under investigation.
