
Candidate filing for the 2026 Primary Election opens today, January 7th, across Indiana.
Those wishing to run in the 2026 Primary Election can begin filing their declaration of candidacy paperwork today through Friday, February 6th at noon.
Pulaski County recently announced which local positions are open for candidates to file for: County Commissioner for District 3, County Council positions in Districts 1, 2, 3, and 4, County Assessor, County Clerk of Courts, County Coroner, County Prosecuting Attorney, County Sheriff, and County Surveyor; as well as some town positions for Winamac and Francesville.
The 2026 Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, May 5th, with polls open from 6am to 6pm local time; and the General Election will take place Tuesday, November 3rd this year, also from 6am to 6pm.
Additionally, voter registration is open from now until April 6th. Those wishing to register to vote need a valid Indiana Driver’s License or State ID card and must be at least 18 years old on or before the next general, municipal, or special election.
