MICHIGAN CITY – According to a recent announcement made by Michigan City, their Franklin Street Bridge is closed now through mid-March.
The announcement shares that the bridge was built in 1932 and is the only historic movable bridge in Indiana.
The bridge will be closed for its necessary annual maintenance, and the city apologizes for any inconvenience caused to drivers.
They share that for access to Washington Park, an alternate route is to take US-12 to Center Street and continue to Lake Shore Drive.
