Joint meeting of Starke County Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals on January 7

Starke County has announced a joint meeting of the Planning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals, to take place tomorrow, Wednesday January 7th.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30pm Central Time and will be held at the Starke County Annex Building’s meeting room 1, located at 53 East Mound Street in Knox.

During this joint meeting, the two boards will discuss and take possible action regarding reorganizing the Board and any necessary appointments. They will discuss job descriptions and position structure for both Planning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals, as well as any pending items, timelines, and staffing capacity. Planning Commission will hear an update on the carbon capture moratorium, and will vote on the approval of their 2026 meeting calendar.

After a space for public and board member comments, the meeting will be adjourned.
