The La Porte County Health Department has announced that they are providing La Porte County residents free radon test kits this month.
In a post made on January 7th, the Health Department shared that January is Radon Awareness Month.
Radon is a naturally occurring, radioactive gas that can enter your home through the ground and affect indoor air quality.
When inhaled, the particles can damage DNA and cause cancer. The only way to know if high levels of radon are present is with a test.
The free radon test kits for La Porte County residents are available at both their Michigan City location at 300 Washington Street Suite 104 in Mighigan City; and in La Porte at 809 State Street Suite 401 A.
