
According to a press release from the Michigan City Police Department, on January 28th at 11:27 AM Central Time, the LaPorte County Regional Dispatch Center received a 911 call in regards to a person who was found injured in the 2300 block of Normandy Drive.
Officers responded to the scene and found a 19-year-old male with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the right arm.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Multiple pieces of evidence were recovered from the scene, and a preliminary investigation revealed that the shooting happened inside an apartment and was not a random shooting. The release indicates that detectives continue to interview witnesses and search for additional evidence; and that there is no known threat to the community at this time.
