Mobile Food Distribution events in Starke and La Porte County in February

The Food Bank of Northern Indiana has announced their mobile food distribution events for the month of February, including dates in Starke and La Porte County.

There will be one mobile food distribution event in Starke County in February, taking place Tuesday, February 17th at the Knox United Methodist Church, which is located at 201 South Shield Street in Knox. This event is scheduled from 9am to 10:30am Central Time, while supplies last. The distribution is provided by the USDA and will serve 150 households.

In La Porte County there will be two mobile food distributions in February: The first will be Wednesday, February 18th at La Porte County Fairgrounds, located at 2581 State Road 2 in La Porte. This distribution is scheduled from 10am to noon Central Time while supplies last, and is sponsored by Citizens Concerned for the Homeless. This distribution will serve 300 households.

There will be an additional mobile food distribution in La Porte County on Wednesday, February 25th at the Kingsford Heights Community Center, located at 515 Wayland Road in Kingsford Heights. This distribution is scheduled from 10am to noon Central time while supplies last, and is also sponsored by Citizens Concerned for the Homeless. This distribution will serve 150 households.

All mobile food distributions offer assorted food items that are pre-boxed or pre-bagged, free of charge. Items are on a first come, first served basis with a limit of one box or bag per household.

These are drive-through distributions, meaning participants should remain in their vehicles and open the trunk to receive items. There will be an area available to self-load if your trunk does not open.
