Local students who are part of Kankakee Valley REMC’s Junior Board of Directors recently had the opportunity to visit the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis.

According to a post from Kankakee Valley REMC, on Tuesday, Junior Board members were able to visit the Governor’s Office, the Supreme Court, and the Senate and the House of Representatives. Additionally, they watched the Senate while in session and also had the opportunity to meet with multiple local legislators.

Kankakee Valley REMC stated that these experiences help students gain a deeper understanding of how government works, and how they can be involved as future leaders in their communities.

The post sharing details of the trip ended with gratitude expressed to the representatives and senator who welcomed students to the Statehouse.
