Special Olympics Indiana Marshall & Starke Counties will host the 2nd Annual Jingle Jam Basketball Tournament on February 8, 2026, at Culver Middle/High School.
The tournament will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST.
The event will welcome Special Olympics Indiana teams from eight surrounding area counties, including two teams from Marshall & Starke Counties. Competition throughout the day will feature 5-on-5 full-court games, 3-on-3 half-court games, and skills competitions, including participation from five all-female teams. Approximately 29 teams will compete in the tournament, supported by more than 100 local volunteers who help ensure the event’s success.
Opening Ceremonies will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the Culver High School gym.
Athletes will receive awards following their second game, with 1st through 8th place finishers recognized. Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded. In addition, referees will select one athlete from each game who demonstrates exemplary sportsmanship to receive a Sportsmanship Award.
Participation in Special Olympics provides athletes with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to train, compete, and showcase their abilities in an authentic and inclusive sporting environment. Hosting this tournament also helps teams meet competition requirements necessary to advance to the Special Olympics Indiana Area Sectional Games in March. Teams that advance from Sectionals may earn the opportunity to compete at the Special Olympics Indiana State Basketball Tournament, held in March at the Indiana Pacers Athletic Center.
