Starke County Council to meet today

The Starke County Council will be holding a regular meeting this afternoon, Wednesday January 21st.

The meeting will begin at 4:30pm Central Time and will be held in the meeting room of Annex Building 1 in Knox.

Council members will begin with reorganization, then they will hear from the Park Board in regards to a salary increase for an employee. Economic Development will share its 2025 accomplishments with council members. A representative from the Highway department will discuss several items with the council, including the purchase of a Brush Chopper, a mower, and a plow; as well as the Starke County Community Foundation grant approval. Finally, the Council will hear from the Clerk in regards to the candidate penalty fund.

Council members will make appointments, as well as discuss an ordinance and previous meeting minutes. After voting on the approval of their 2026 meeting schedule and addressing any additional business that may come before them, the meeting will be adjourned.
